Large Format Audio Console vs. Behringer X32

Updating the blog today and showing some photos of the difference in size of a Large Format Audio Console vs. Behringer X32. The large format audio console being our old Allen & Heath ML4000 48-Channel board.

What is simply amazing is that I have removed 19AU of gear by upgrading to the Behringer X32. In fact, here is a list of all that was replaced!

Even with 19AU of rack gear removed…

Even with 19AU of rack gear removed, the Behringer X32 is leaps ahead of the old system in terms of processing power. With a low cut (HPF), gate, compressor and 4 band fully parametric EQ on EACH CHANNEL, you would need racks upon racks of gear to equal the same amount of processing power.

Sound quality between the two is night and day, without the gates engaged the noise level of the ML4000 was much higher than the X32. Also, the clarity of the audio is amazing. The slightest adjustment with the eq is noticed quickly. With the use of gates on every channel, the reduction of noise has really made the sound system very clear!

I am blown away by this mixer. I honestly don’t know what to do with all of this extra room in the sound booth! Now to just get the lift out to bring the 192lb monster to the ground!
